Salt, Craters, and Wine: A Journey Through the Island’s Contrasts!

Some tours show you Gran Canaria, but some experiences let you truly feel it. Land & Table is designed for those who don’t settle for a quick glance: a journey through salt flats, volcanoes, full glasses, and villages that look hand-drawn. No rush, no crowds, just wide-open eyes (and palate).

The day starts between 8:00 and 9:00 with pick-up directly from your accommodation. The first stop is along the coast, at one of the island’s few remaining salt flats. A fascinating place where the slow work of humans meets the sun’s reflections on salty waters, creating natural patterns and light plays. From there, we move to the small village of El Burrero, a little-known fishing village where life still moves at the rhythm of the sea. From its mirador, you can enjoy excellent views of the coast and the surrounding landscape, where nature and human activity have always coexisted.

The journey continues upward to Pico de Bandama, a volcanic crater over 200 meters deep. From its summit, you can see the caldera and much of the northern part of the island: wind in your face, silence all around, and a landscape opening in every direction.

Midday is the perfect moment for a stop—but in our style: a visit to a local winery, nestled in the volcanic terrain and surrounded by vineyards. Enjoy a stroll among the barrels, learn about the production process, and of course taste some Canarian wines accompanied by typical local snacks. Everything is included in the tour, no surprises—you just relax and enjoy the experience.

Lunch follows shortly after, at a restaurant steeped in history and authentic cuisine. A simple place where tradition is served on the plate: local recipes, regional ingredients, flavors that tell the story of the island and its people. The perfect pause before continuing the journey.

In the afternoon, we head to the mountainous interior, stopping in the famous village of Tejeda, one of the most beautiful towns on the island, perched on the caldera and surrounded by almond trees, pines, and postcard-perfect views.

Shortly after, we reach Santa Lucía de Tirajana, a green, tranquil oasis preserving the island’s rural simplicity. The final stop is the Mirador de Guriete, perhaps the most scenic of the hidden viewpoints, with the sun beginning to set and sweeping views over deep gorges and the valley below—a perfect moment to take a deep breath and think, “It was worth it.”

The tour ends around 19:00, with return to your accommodation. A day among volcanic landscapes, wine, small villages, and ever-changing panoramas. This is the real Gran Canaria—carried in your eyes… and maybe even a little in your heart!
